Studio Policies


Regular Lessons

  • The regular music school year runs for 10 months from September 1st to June 30th. A yearly calendar will be sent to you in August indicating the first and last days of lessons as well as holidays during the school year.

Music Lesson Packages

  • Music Lesson Packages can be either 4 or 8 lessons and must be paid in full when purchased.

  • MLP lessons can be scheduled individually at any time of the year. Dates must be pre-selected at purchase.

Make-Up Lessons

  • Teacher cancellations. These lessons will always be made up.

  • Student cancellations. Make-up lessons will not be given for student cancellations. A lesson is considered cancelled if a student does not show up within 10 minutes of the intended lesson time. Student cancelled lessons are still charged because the time is being held by the teacher. If you are late for your lesson, your lesson will still end at it's normal time.

In-Studio Lessons

  • Please arrive a few minutes early for your lesson as there are other students right after you.

  • Parents/guardian are welcome to stay for the lesson if they choose.

  • Younger siblings may attend the lesson as long as they are not a distraction to the student.

  • If you have allergies to pets please let your teacher know so alternate arrangements can be made.

  • Any charges incurred for damage to the studio will become the sole responsibility of the parents/guardians of the student(s) involved in the incident.

Online Lessons

  • Online lessons are held through Zoom, Skype, or Face Time.

  • Parents/guardians are required to attend online lessons for students under age 10, or for any student that requires assistance with music, or staying focused.

Rates

  • In-studio lesson rates are $30 per 30 minutes.

  • Online lesson rates are $25 per 30 minutes.

Billing

  • Registration must be completed before an invoice for lessons will be sent to you. Click here to get started!

  • An invoice will be sent to you via email before lessons begin.  If you do not receive your invoice please notify me as soon as possible. 

  • Regular students will receive one yearly invoice outlining the monthly fees from September to June.  Each month’s fees will be calculated by the amount of lessons in that month.

  • Fees will not be adjusted for vacations or time taken off during the middle of the school year because the student's space is being held by the teacher. Please notify me of any holidays before confirming the invoice.

Payment Options

  • For Regular Lessons: monthly fees are payable by email money transfer only and are due upon the first day of each calendar month.

  • If payment is not received by the 15th of the month, lessons will be suspended until payment is received.

  • For Music Lesson Packages: full payment must be received upon purchase. You’ll receive an invoice by email after registration. Lessons will not begin until full payment is received.  Invoices are payable by email money transfer.

Stopping Your Music Lessons

  • 30 days written notice is required from the client for final termination of lessons. Lessons will be billed to the end of that 30 day period.

  • I, Hannah Mortensen, reserve the right to cancel lessons at my discretion for insufficient payment of funds, or other just cause.
